Pettit figure skaters continue to 2010 Junior Championships

MILWAUKEE--- November 17, 2009 --- The Pettit National Ice Center, a U.S. Olympic Training Site, is proud to announce the recent success of a three Pettit figure skaters who have skated their way to the 2010 Junior US Figure Skating Championships.

After an exciting weekend of regional qualifying at Hoffman Estates Park District Ice Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, Samantha Puhl, Ryan Otto and Margaret Hausmann qualified for the 2010 US Junior Figure Skating Championships.

Samantha Phul of Mequon, Wisconsin placed 2^nd out of 15 at the Juvenile level.  Margaret Hausmann of Cedarburg, Wisconsin took 2^nd over all at the Intermediate level and Ryan Otto of Greenfield, took 2^nd overall as well at the Intermediate level.  The 2010 Junior US Figure Skating Championships will be held December 14-19, at Hoover Arena in Strongsville, Ohio.

All three skaters are or were members of the Wisconsin Figure Skating Club. The Wisconsin Figure Skating Club is one of several hundred locally organized figure skating clubs sanctions by US Figure Skating to support skating development at all levels across several figure skating disciplines. The Pettit National Ice Center is home to the Wisconsin Figure Skating Club.

Along with Sarah, Margaret and Ryan we would like to recognize other Pettit Skaters at the 2010 US Figure Skating Qualifying Competition (Upper Great Lakes).

Qualifying level:

            Allison Yurkowitz - advanced to final round

            Isabella Dow - advanced to final round

            Nicki Otto - advanced to final round

Kylie Adamec, Eleanor Feinman, Alexandra Wray, Nichole Ott, Rachel Meye, Katie Lippe and Kenzie Reid.

Non-qualifying level:

            Amelia Dow - 1^st place

            Avery Anapol - 1^st place

            Cassandra Brzycki - 1^st place and advanced to final round

            Darcie Drahus - advanced to final round

            Angelia Michalski - advance to final round

            Macauley Lukend, Tess Botka, Ashley Hess, Kayla Sellers, Rachel Brzycki and Lauren Craft.
